We have another Liella weekend in the books!

This weekend brings and end to the months long tour of live and fan meeting events for each of the Liella subunits, culminating in one final talk session and full group live.

We had plenty funny and cute moments during the talk sessions, including shadow play a bunch of fan-submitted challenges and prompts. The live portion itself was effectively its own full-length concert, with a set list length rivaling a normal numbered live. Also, what the heck is up with these wacky intermissions? They’re so silly but I love them!

Also, SkikiMei IRL. That is all.

Announcements hit after the girls left, but there wasn’t much new info beyond a full story PV and the announcement of an OP/ED event.

Step back in time two years (can you believe it’s only been two years?) and introduce yourselves to the 2nd generation of Liella! This was the first live event to feature Kumachan, Yabuchan, Nonchan, and Emorin. The live section only featured Gen 1, but Gen 2 joined for the antics during the talk session, giving the LoveLive! community an opportunity to get to know the newest members better. A smaller release than usual for ONIBE, but a very welcome one (and one I haven’t seen yet).

This re-encode comes in about 1 GB less thanthe size of the 1080p re-encode at 3.1 GB, which itself is about 33% of the original size of the ONIBE release, but with minimal fidelity loss, weighing in at about 3.9 GB. For those of you that need even more storage space savings beyond the 1080p’s reduction in size, this should help you all out.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club 2nd Live Brand New Story + Back to the TOKIMEKI [720p h.265]

ONIBE dropped quite the throwback on us. This was Nijigasaki’s 2nd Live, in what should have been a celebration with fans. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, that plan had to be changed. This live would be one of the main introductions into the crowdless lives we would learn to love and watch evolve throughout the numerous lockdown periods, but it would also be one of the main introductions of the concept of overseas online live streams for these major live events, which has carried through today.

This was my first proper foray into Nijigasaki. I wound up skipping Brand New Story at the time, but finally decided to give them a shot when Back to the TOKIMEKI came around. The rest, as they say, is history (though I allowed history repeat itself with Hasu… when will I learn?).

This re-encode has managed to cut out roughly 52GB from the original files while still maintaining visual fidelity, and is 10GB smaller than the 1080p version of the encode.

This has been tested with the latest versions of VLC Media Player and MPV as of 7/8/2024.

Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club 2nd Live Tour ~Blooming with ○○○~ (Hyogo Leg) (1080p)

All good things must come to an end. Sadly, this also means Hasunosora’s 2nd Live Tour.

This weekend saw the Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club make their way to World Memorial Hall in Hyogo for the second and final leg of their ~Blooming with ○○○~ tour, bringing many of the songs they performed at the Chiba leg, but with some notable differences! We also got announcements of more LLLL content (including a cover series starting with Snow Halation?!) and confirmation of a 3rd Live Tour, subtitled TRY TRI UNITY!!!, beginning in November 2024.

Love Live! Hasunosora Girls’ High School Idol Club 2nd Live Tour ~Blooming with ○○○~ (Chiba Leg) (1080p)

And thus, my dive deeper into Idol Hell continues.

We’ve officially included the first weekend of Hasunosora’s 2nd Live series in Chiba, where we got to see the girls show off their skills and repertoire, and with some new friends to boot! The three newest members of Hasunosora’s school idol club joined for a song and got to have an MC segment in front of the crowd, which is exciting!

I’ll admit that this was my first real dive into anything Hasunosora, having not been able to follow them until now. But if I wasn’t hooked then, I certainly am now! This week confirmed (as if we needed confirmation) that they’ve got massive skill as the newest group in the Love Live franchise, and have very much earned all the praise and adoration that has been thrown their way.

Love Live! Anime 10th Anniversary Orchestra Concert (720p)

It was a much different kind of Love Live! concert weekend, but was just as emotionally gripping and enjoyable from a fan’s perspective.

The 10th anniversary celebration of the original LoveLive! School Idol Project anime has come and gone, and with it came a symphonic celebration of the two seasons it gave us. From start to finish, we were treated to orchestral arrangements of many of the singles and soundtrack tracks we enjoyed through the show’s two seasons, culminating in a beautiful performance of “Snow Halation” featuring 2/3 of the original cast with full orchestral accompaniment. The event as a whole might not be to everyone’s taste, but regardless I think you should watch it. You might surprise yourself and end up enjoying it, too!

I’ve provided 1080p and 720p versions of this concert, as this was a major event for the LL franchise, and I want this to be available to as many people as possible. This 720p version reduces the total file size by about 2.5 GB.
