Love Live! Superstar!! Liella! LIVE & FAN Meeting Tour ~Welcome to Yuigaoka!!~ [720p h.265]

Step back in time two years (can you believe it’s only been two years?) and introduce yourselves to the 2nd generation of Liella! This was the first live event to feature Kumachan, Yabuchan, Nonchan, and Emorin. The live section only featured Gen 1, but Gen 2 joined for the antics during the talk session, giving the LoveLive! community an opportunity to get to know the newest members better. A smaller release than usual for ONIBE, but a very welcome one (and one I haven’t seen yet).

This re-encode comes in about 1 GB less thanthe size of the 1080p re-encode at 3.1 GB, which itself is about 33% of the original size of the ONIBE release, but with minimal fidelity loss, weighing in at about 3.9 GB. For those of you that need even more storage space savings beyond the 1080p’s reduction in size, this should help you all out.

Playback has been tested on the latest versions of VLC Media Player, MPV, and Haruna as of 7/15/24.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club 2nd Live Brand New Story + Back to the TOKIMEKI [720p h.265]

ONIBE dropped quite the throwback on us. This was Nijigasaki’s 2nd Live, in what should have been a celebration with fans. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, that plan had to be changed. This live would be one of the main introductions into the crowdless lives we would learn to love and watch evolve throughout the numerous lockdown periods, but it would also be one of the main introductions of the concept of overseas online live streams for these major live events, which has carried through today.

This was my first proper foray into Nijigasaki. I wound up skipping Brand New Story at the time, but finally decided to give them a shot when Back to the TOKIMEKI came around. The rest, as they say, is history (though I allowed history repeat itself with Hasu… when will I learn?).

This re-encode has managed to cut out roughly 52GB from the original files while still maintaining visual fidelity, and is 10GB smaller than the 1080p version of the encode.

This has been tested with the latest versions of VLC Media Player and MPV as of 7/8/2024.

Team Onibe has graced us with their subbing of the 9th Anniversary Love Live Fest just in time for its spiritual successor, in a way, the Unit Koshien, this weekend! This was one of the final concerts in the before times, before COVID kicked everyone’s asses and shut down the world for a while. It was also the last time I got to see a delayed viewing in a movie theater, so it’s a bit of a nostalgia trip for me.

It’s hard to think about at this point, with six group lives and numerous other activities under their belt, but this was just the third live for Nijigasaki, and their first real exposure to the rest of the Love Live community that may not have known about them. Their first numbered live happened almost exactly one month prior to Fest, so each of them performed their first solo songs from the Tokimeki Runners CD, and this would have been their largest live crowd to date (and still might be one of their larger crowds, if not the largest).

Aqours shone as they always have, with the first live performance of Mitaiken Horizon, the usual Aqours energy and polish, and fearless leader Anchan reverting to her superfan self for a few brief moments during closing MCs, shortly after µ’s performed Snow Halation.

And yes! µ’s performed a medley of their songs! It was their live performance as 9 since their Final Live in 2016, and it was so, so nice to see them back together again. The medley, of course, was followed by Snow Halation, and that legendary orange glow that accompanies it.

This encode shrinks the original even more than the 1080p encode published along with this, cutting 20 GB off of the original download and ~8 GB off of the 1080p encode size. This will be the ideal version for those with even tighter bandwitdh caps or less drive space to work with.

This encode, while not 100% lossless, retains almost all of the original quality into a smaller container format, cutting 12.5 GB off of the original download. There is also a 720p version available for those with even tighter bandwitdh caps or less drive space to work with.

We’re back again! Team ONIBE has subbed and released the blu-ray from Liella’s MTV Unplugged session. This one never got a stream overseas, so we were unable to experience this one as it happened. From the clips I’ve seen, though, the arrangements were very, very pleasing to listen to. Enjoy Liella as 5 perform some broken down versions of the songs they performed during their First LoveLive Tour!

The 720p version of this re-encode was able to lop off a bit more than the 1080p file, but only about a GB more. Still, it should help make these easier to store for those of you where disk space comes at a premium. A 12ish GB drop from the original is a lot, and for minimal loss of fidelity.

We’re back again! Team ONIBE has subbed and released the blu-ray from Liella’s MTV Unplugged session. This one never got a stream overseas, so we were unable to experience this one as it happened. Love Live! Superstar!! Liella! 2nd LoveLive! ~What a Wonderful Dream!!~ (720p)

A new Onibe release means a new h.265 re-encode, and this time we’ve got Liella’s 2nd Live tour Blu-Ray. This was the final live where Liella performed as 5 members, and what a fun live it was. We got SunnyPa performances with the anime tie-in theme, full-group versions of the songs that Sayurin handled during their first tour, and the Yuigaoka Girls Band during the Osaka leg of the tour! This BD includes Day 2 from Yokohama (their first stop), and Day 2 from Osaka (their last stop) along with the behind the scenes content included with the performances.

The 1080p re-encode cut the original size by a clean 50%, resulting in a 24.4 GB total size vs the original’s 48.8 GB. This brings it down even further to 17.5 GB. With all re-encoded comes some level of degradation in quality, but considering the way this was able to be crunched down with minimal fidelity loss, I’m happy with the end result.

If you want to see all the performances without the polish (and aggressive vocal tuning) of the BD, I’ve also got the Yokohama, Nagoya, and Osaka stops ripped from the PIA streams. It’s a more raw experience, and it’s without subtitles, but it has its own value in my opinion. These are 1080p rips, but because of the source quality, they’re significantly smaller than the BD release as individual days.
